.
1 turn off system restore
2 turn on xp firewall
3 update mcafee
4 reboot to safe mode (f8)
5 run mcafee in safe mode

start run regedit

check the below two keys in registry you will find and
must set to blank or delete the data that shows c windows
system32

hklm and hkcu

software
microsoft
windows
current version
click on run(look in right side of screen for data)

Greetings --

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
