There seems to be a lot of answering of questions with
answers that really don't solve the problem the postee is
looking for or is just someone's 2 cents.

Please, only answer questions if you have a solution -
mentioning alternative methods is fine but only after the
question has been answered. Otherwise, the question
appears as answered and receives no further attention.
 
Did you ever stop to think, maybe an alternative is given because that is
the answer ?

How can anyone guarantee that their suggested solution solves the poster's
problem? Most people don't bother to post code, so it is often a matter of
guessing what their *real* problem is.
