Every left click or highlight prompts delete function in Vista

I've come across an annoying bug with Vista, occassionally when I left click
on an item I get the delete prompt on the selected item.

The bug is unpredictable and happens and then goes away.

I will just be working left click and the permission dialog to delete pops up.

Left click NO on the permission dialog recalls the delete function and
starts a vicions loop that seems to fail after a large number of NO clicks

It also seems to occur when a higlight is made to select a menu item.

Thank you for help or feedback from anyone who has information. I don't know
if it is a bug with vista or a virus.

I have used virus scan and it does not report any issues.

Well from here it looks like from here that your Delete button stucked
on your keyboard (that is cause that when you left click something pops
up the Delete button). At least i have no other idea what can cause this.

Try a different keyboard, if your keyboard and/or mouse are wireless try new
batteries for both.

Funny, isn't it, how everything that goes wrong is automatically assumed to
be a "bug in Vista", rather than a problem with the user's mouse, keyboard
or whatever.

High profile faults like this would manifest themselves *much* more widely
if they really were a "bug in Vista". In reality it's massively more likely
to be a hardware problem or a dodgy third party driver.

We've all got into the habit of sniping at Vista, even when it isn't
justified.

Thanks for the responses, the keyboard and mouse are shared through a switch
with an Xp machine, and the Xp machine works OK. What I'm doing now is use
the Vista machine with it's own mouse/keyboard and I'll see if I get the
problem again.

I have the same problem using hardware which has been installed on this
machine for over a year. I replaced the batteries in the keyboard: still have
the problem intermittently. Has anyone discovered a possible cure for this?
