For a property valuation I need to have a formula that adds a growt
percentage but only every fifth year. Can anyone help?

This is in the "programming" section but from your question I'm not sure if
you need to do this in VBA or in a worksheet formula.

Assuming you've got a VBA program, try something like the following:

Dim mValue as double 'your starting value
dim mYear as integer
sheets("Sheet1").activate
For mYear = 2000 to 2020
if mYear Mod 5 = 0 then
mValue=mValue+1000
end if
next mYear

Assuming your doing this in a worksheet -- suppose your years are in A2:An
and your starting value is in B1 and you want to increase the value by 10%
every 5 years: put this in B2:Bn

=IF(MOD(A2-$A$2+1,5)=0,B1*1.1,B1)
