Ever Present Decimal

I am transitioning from Lotus 1-2-3 to Excel. In Excel whenever I ente
a number in a cell it auomatically adds a decimal point at the end o
the number. Even when I set the decimal selection at 0 in the cel
formatting, the decimal point stays there. All the formulas work fine
but it looks pretty silly for 1234. to be the way a whole number t
appears

Barnesy,

The way numbers are presented are controlled by Format - Cells - Number.
Normally, they're set to General. I suspect yours are something other.

Tools, Options, Edit (tab),
remove the checkmark next to Fixed Decimals ... places.
