Another thing i have noticed is that it doesn't show the other persons
picture as it used to in the top right.

Do you think MSN messengers corrupted and causing the errors

Thanks

Hi

My partner and i both use msn messenger (version 7.5 at moment), funny
thing is i don't remember seeing this error with the previous versions.

I'll try uninstalling to see if the problem stops, if it dose stop the
error can you suggest any alternatives with the same level of usability
to msn messenger? If not i may just have to get used to seeing that error.

Thx

Mike

Uninstalling and reinstalling may cure the problem.

Have you looked at Windows Messenger as an alternative?

I do not use these types of Messenger programmes so I am
not the ideal person to ask.

Reinstalling messenger and the error didn't show up, as soon as i
reinstalled messenger the error came back, :(

Will have to look into what's making messenger produce this error i
guess or just get used to seeing it in the log :(

Thanks for your help, any suggestions welcome

In the Error Report is this link:

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I cannot check this link as it only works on the computer
where the error report has been generated. Open the link
in Event Viewer and post a copy.

"Error code: C0000005 - I would get this event on every boot, and like
another user who posted here, it was caused by having MSN Messenger 7.5
starting automatically when Windows starts. If I run MSN Messenger after the
boot has completed (i.e. manually start it), there is no COM error recorded.
To disable Messenger from running automatically, open MSN Messenger, and go
to Tools -> Options -> General -> and uncheck 'Automatically run Messenger
when I log on to Windows'."

Hope this helps.

I had the same error comming up and causing random restarts. Did alot of
research on the problem and discovered windows firewall also was not
starting, doing more research discovered information on resetting the
services permissions Typed this at the command prompt : SC sdset SharedAccess
D:(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;PU) . And problems seem to have been cured.
