I have an XP Professional workstation with SP2 installed and all the Windows
updates and what happens is the security event log fills up with eventid 577
within seconds and when you delete them it fills back up. I tried applying a
hotfix that Microsoft recommended but to no avail. I also tried reinstalling
SP2 but to no avail. Does anyone know how to get rid of this annoyance? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the exact problem but you could go into Local Security Policy
and disable auditing of privilege use to stop those events assuming you have
no current need to audit privilege use which is disabled in a default
installation. --- Steve
