Event Viewer

Hi,

can anyone tell me what are the the registry settings and files need for the
following event codes in event viewer?

Source EventLog Event 6006 Is the "clean" shutdown event
Source EventLog Event 6009 is one of the two startup events
Source EventLog Event 6005 is the other startup event.

I cannot see any specific components in XPe for this.

Thanks

Raggy

Raggy,

What I did to solve these errors was to install XP Pro on the system,
then use regedit to export the [HKLM\SYSTM\CurrentControlSet\Services
\Eventlog] key to a .REG file. This .REG file was then imported into
Component designer to create an "XPE_Eventlog_Messages" component.

I still see these types of errors in my eventlog howeve :( (No longer
6005/6009 though!)

In general, comparing the registry of an XP pro install and an XPE
install may help with these types of errors. Or you could try
creating a build the "XP Pro Emulation" component that is available at
XPEFiles.com. If this resolves the error, you know at least the
component is in that build...

There is also a feature where you can save an eventlog and open it on
an XP Pro computer, which may be able to display the message.

Hi Raggy,

I would also create a new, separate image for XPPro emulation.
I had no trouble downloading the file, but you have to create a login
first, and then sign in.

The file to download is XPETools by Konstantin Moore, which shows up
in the Popular Tags cloud on the main screen after you sign in...
