In the System Log on my Ultimate machine I get an error whenever my flatmate
turns on his laptop. It's the usual:
The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer blah
blah blah

what I have found is that the 'Source' of this error is 'bowser' and not
'browser'. Is 'bowser' right?

Please post an exact copy of the Report.

Hope this helps.

Here is the entry in the Event Viewer. The 'Source' is what I think is
wrong. Surely the source should be 'browser'?? My mates dog was called
bowser ;-)

Your flatmate must have too many Sha-Na-Na MP3's on his 'puter...

You have chosen to copy the xml view of the error which is the more
difficult to interpret. It is an Event ID: 8003 error but I cannot
determine the source.

Hi Gary.

There's no need to interpret the entry as I know what the browser service
does on a lan and why the error is being generated. My query is purely
regarding the name of the source in the log entries which I think should say
browser and not bowser.

LOL thinking of the "good old days" :-)

Yeah, well I guess I gave my age away with that one... I missed their show
at Woodstock but did catch them at the Fillmore East back in the day. Way
before the TV show...

It's misspelled.
