Event log messages that I can't diagnose searching the web...

O

ofn01

I get a couple of messages regularly in my event log which I can't really
find on the web (i.e. other people having had them)

The first is just a warning and is in my Application log (I replaced my user
with <username>)
Source: Userenv
Category: None
Event ID: 1517
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Windows saved user <compname>\<username> registry while an application or
service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the
user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is
no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring
the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The second does not happen every time, but occasionally and is an error in
my System log
Source: Service Control Manager
Category: None
Event ID: 7023
User: N/A

The IPSEC Services service terminated with the following error:

An invalid argument was supplied.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any help on these is much appreciated thanks!

the ID 1517 occurs very often after SP2 install. It is caused by the new
DCOM Server Process Launcher service (as revieled by the User Profile Hive
Cleanup Service as recommended in the KB artical). There appears to be no
fix as of yet, but it is not harmful and should be ignored.
