Event log file corrupt

In the event log under "system" I get the error that the event log file is
corrupt and no events are listed. how do I fix that?
 
Nevermind. I googled and found the answer. right click in the event log pane
and select "clear event log".

Hi

That will clear the Event Log, but it may not stop becoming corrupted again.

Hello,
Seems to be working ok, its logging events. I was overclocking the front
side bus and windows demanded a disk check...i think i damaged some files.
So far the only problem apparent is the event log...
