Event ID error

I have a XP Home SP2 PC that keeps generating an Event ID 51 in the system
log. The error says:

Event ID - 51 - An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a
paging operation.

I have determined that this refers to my hard drive, I only have one...but
am not sure what the \D represents. My hard disk is C:. Anyhow, this error
is showing up more regularly now and I am not sure what to do to remedy this
problem. The PC will lock up periodically as well. I've searched the web
for answers, but have not found a definiete reason what is causing this error
or how to fix it. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks!

Harddisk 0 should be C:,you can double chk by run, type:diskmgmt.msc
For the problem, open system properties, advanced, performance, virtual memory,
change button, select "let windows manage" then click set 2X,close out,a
restart
should be prompted.

Read this MS article KB244780 it may assist you in troubleshooting the
error.
