Event ID 7024

I am running Windows 2000 Server with AD

I am getting an Event ID 7024 in the System Log of the
Event Viewer. The error indicates the following: The
performance Logs and Alerts service terminated with
service-specific error 2003.

How can this error be resolved??

This is by design. This service only runs when it has a job to do, then it
terminates.
