Event ID 7000: service failed to start

My company developed a software that will intigrate with small to medium size
phone switches, & until recently we loaded this software on PC's with W2K Pro
SP4, and it worked flawlessly. Recently we started loading it on PC's with
XP Pro SP2, and we are now getting the error that the service failed to start
as the system cannot find the path specified, when we create a mapped drive
to the folder on the root drive C. We even turned off the Firewall, and we
are doing nothing different on the XP then we did on the W2K in mapping. Any
suggestions??
Thank you in advance for any assitance.

Can you please let me know the Source name from the Event Viewer and the
Event ID is 7000, right?

yes the Event ID is 7000. The complete message in event viewer is:
CTI FMedia Server failed to start due to the following error: The system
cannot find the path specified.

What we do is copy the application originally installed under Program Files
to the C Root to create a node. We share the application, then map a drive
to this share on the same computer. To add this to the Services we double
click on the CTIserver.exe file, then go into the Processes and End Process.
On a W2K machine we can go into Services and start the CTI FMedia Server
service. But on the XP machine it states that is is unable to locate the
F:\CTIserver.exe, even though it is the mapped drive.

thank you
