Event ID 30

R

Ray

Hi,
I am getting this warning on the event log of my windows
2000 server:

The server was unable to read the file
C:\WINNT\help\iishelpcommon\404b.htm. The file does not
exist.
The event ID is 30 and the event source is w3svc.

Is this something serious? should I worry about it? I
have checked the knowledge based support on the microsoft
site but couldn't get a satisfactory answer.
Please Help.

Not an IIS person, but from what I found don't appear to be a real problem.
what I found;
Missing custom error files from C:\WINNT\help\iisHelp\common, such as...

401-2.htm
401-3.htm
404b.htm
500-100.asp

These files are deleted if you uncheck Documentation in Windows 2000 Setup
for IIS, but are not readded when it is checked again.

the workaround for it was;
1. Extract IIS_4*.htm, IIS_5*.htm and IIS_500-100.asp files from
I386\IIS5_01.CAB
in Windows 2000 CD.
2. Rename the files.
Ex. ren IIS_400.htm 400.htm
3. Locate them in %SYSTEMROOT%\Help\iisHelp\common
4. Reinstall the latest Windows 2000 Service Pack.
