Any Clues on this one?

DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either
because it is disabled or because it has no enabled
devices associated with it. " attempting to start the
service MDM with arguments "" in order to run the server:
{0C0A3666-30C9-11D0-8F20-00805F2CD064}

I have no MDM Service

I have all the updates critical and otherwise,

I was never hit by the Blaster Worm (Firewalled and all
upto date at the time

Any hints would be appreciated

MDM = Machine Debug Manager. It's in your services but is
not an essential service. Keep smiling.

Hi,

Go to Start/Admin Tools/Services and scroll down to Machine Debug Manager
and verify that it is started and set to Automatic.

Those settings can also be checked here: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\MDM

In the right pane, Start should read 2.

If that is set properly, run the edit on line 300
