errors upgrading from xp home to xp pro...

When upgrading from win xp home to win xp pro, I
encountered a few problems. I first deactivated the
firewall and antivirus programs... then the upgrade
process began... and with 19 minutes left in
installation...

The first problem was "unregmp2.exe - Entry point not
found. The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be
located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL." I had to
hit OK 200+ times for the installation to continue.

The next problem was "dlimport.exe - Entry point not
found. The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be
located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL."

Installation continued with no more hitches, but then I
immediately noticed things. 1. My modem was not working
and no dial up connection could be established even though
a modem check said the modem was working properly. 2.
System Restore is unavailable. 3. Win XP Pro was not
listed in add/remove programs.

Can anyone suggest ANYthing... Do I need to reformat and
reinstall Win XP Home? Thank you!

Jeremy,

You're describing exact same scenario XPH to XPP upgrade that I
did. I am now unable to access MS-Works Calendar program with
same GetIUMS message w. MSDART.DLL. I have no Index in my
XP Pro Help/Support dialog.

When I did a search of my C: drive, I found only MSDART.DL_ the
compressed file. MSDART.DLL was removed from drive during
upgrade to XP Pro.

If you get any feedback on this, please let me know.
