errors in web sites with IE 6.0

Hello together,

I'm running IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2 (XP Pro version from full version
SP2 CD with first update for IE).

When I'm visiting http://www.microsoft.de, I'm redirected to
http://www.microsoft.com/germany/default.aspx. Ok. so far, but for this
ite IE displays errors in the page (the site is displayed):

Line 1
char 1
error: Object expected
code 0

Clicking on "Windows update", I get a blank page with URL
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.

Error:

Line 2
char 2
error: '/' expected
code 0

On XP SP1 Tablet PC Edition (updated to SP2) IE seems to be the same
version. The error on http://www.microsoft.com/germany/default.aspx is
the same, but when I go to "Windows update", I' redirected to
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?ln=de,
and the site is displayed properly (without errors).

Both PC's are connected via LAN switch with first PC (XP SP2 Pro full
version) as proxy (WebWasher is running).

Has anybody an idea (or a more intelligent question) to solve the issue?

/JP

Hi again,

I've found out:

the WebWasher standard filter seems to be the problem:

On the host where the WebWasher is running (as proxy):
When the standard filter is switched on (even without any option/filter
type enabled) IE (and FireFox) get problems with .asp/.aspx web pages.
This is independent of whether the proxy is enabled or not in the
browser/internet options.
When the standard filter is switched off, everything is ok. (almost,
still maybe some errors found, but the page is being displayed properly
(meaning I've seen no problems)

On the second PC which is using the WebWasher proxy (WebWasher is not
running on this second one) I didn't see any problems, with standard
filter on or off...

Hm.

But anyway, it's more clear whats up and a quick workaround at hand...
