Errors after reinstalling OS

I had to reinstall Windows XP due to a virus and now I'm getting all of these
weird messages. Something is wrong but I don't know what or how to fix it.
Sometimes I get this: NotifyAlert.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging
Services Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
ProcessId= 0xa74 (2676) <<varies>> ThreadId=0xa78 (2680) <<varies>>. When
I try to debut I get a message that a Registered JIT debugger is not
available. I also get a similar message about Rng.exe. Can anybody tell me
what I need to do? Many thanks in advance!

Hi Dianna,

NotifyAlert.exe is a Dell utility, as is rng.exe. Both require that the .net
framework be installed. Go to WindowsUpdate and select it from the option
downloads.

Thank you! I have run Windows Update several times since reinstalling and
that is the ONE that keeps failing. I'll go try it again. It downloaded the
entire 10.2 MB and then failed. Any thoughts on that??
