Does anyone know what the error code 80070241 is

try reburning the ISO at a low speed, 2x recommended, also do a CRC check on
the ISO to find out its integrity. Nero MD5 Verifier is a recommended
choice. If setup still fails, its likely a bad download.

Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want
check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive
and open it and it will automatically start the varification process and
generate the has in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are
safe.

i hve tryed that and have downloaded it 8 times the md5 hash is diffrent in
all the downloads would this indicate that the problem is with microsofts
servers as i know of numerous people who have had this error and have
downloaded it more than once and all downloads have diffrent hash values

You guys are not going to believe this. I finally got Vista to install,
heres what happened and how I did it:

1. I pasted the download link into FIREFOX of all things. that is the only
way I could get a good download.

2. Burned the ISO to DVD using Roxio DVD builder @ 2X speed.

3. Copied all the install files to the hard drive in a folder labeled "Vista
Install" and ran the installation from there. It took 2 1/2 HOURS to install.

When Vista started for the first time, all I got was a black screen, working
mouse, and the build number noted in the lower right corner. NO graphics at
all and nothing works. I had to roll back the installation and am now back
to XP.

Talk about disapointment! Any thoughts? My machine is a 1.4 Gig celeron
with a GIG of RAM

John did you have a look too see if your graphics card is supported and if it
is then download drivers that are for vista that maybe why your getting a
black screen

Actually, the machine I am installing on is a laptop. Its an HP Pavilion
dv1133wm. I cant change the bios to increase memory, but the "advisor" told
me Vista would run on my machine.. Grrrrrrrrrr.

The Vista Advisor says it should work, but I cant raise the video memory to
128mb. this is actualy an HP laptop model Pavilion dv1133wm. Grrrrrrr
