Error writing to floppy

Using win 2000 pro--I can read from 1.44 floppy but win says floppy is
"write protected" so doesn't write. Discs are not write protected.

Check for a local or group policy that forbids writing to floppy.

A floppy diskette has a little slide tab in one corner. One position
causes physical write protection.

U must remove "write protected" first then try again.
