Error with shlwapi.dll

When I open C drive with explorer.exe I run into the following error:
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: shlwapi.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2900.3020 Offset: 000083ba

I do not encounter the problem if I open any other folder or partition, or
if I open the drive through other programs (e.g. WinRAR and Firefox). I have
searched the KB, Experts Exchange and the www without any success. Has anyone
else encountered this problem before?

When did this start to happen? Make sure that your system is up to date and
running the latest Anti-virus software with the updated definitions, etc.
