ERROR WITH AUTOEXEC.NET

R

Ray St-S

For some time now, I receive that following error message when trying to
open a certain programme or running certain commands.such as COMMAND.COM.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NET. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Please close to
terminate the application.

Any help suggested would be most appreciated. Thanks,

ray

Thank you Will. I have done as per the article and now the error message
has changed:

The WIN16 susbsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.EXE must be in
your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your path.

To Thornston Matzner and Carey Frisch and Will Denny:

Many thanks for your help. I was able to fix the problem by editing the
autoexec.nt file's commands. It works like a charm and I REALLY appreciate
all your help.
