I'm getting this error when I try to install certain programs:
THE APPLICATION OR DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\RICHED32.DLL IS NOT A VALID WINDOWS IMAGE. PLEASE CHECK AGAINST YOUR INSTALLATION DISKETTE

Any suggestions

Thanx
Darryl

Hi Darryl,

Perhaps the riched32.dll file has been corrupted. Boot to the Recovery
Console and extract the file from the WINXP install CD by keying in this
command:

expand <CDROM drive letter>:\i386\riched32.dl_ C:\Windows\System32
<ENTER>

For example, if you CDROM is drive E, the command would look like this:

expand E:\i386\riched32.dl_ C:\Windows\System32
<ENTER>

If you're not familiar with the Recovery Console, a description of it,
including how to start and how to use it, can be found here:

Regards,
