Error window at start up

After the computer has booted the program icons appearand then a small window
appears. The title of the window is "ERROR" with no numbers just text as
follows:
Could not locate a valid definitions file. Please go to Program Options page
and click "Update Definitions" to download a definitions file. ( I have no
idea where or how to find the Program Options page. so I usually click OK and
continue as normal. Any help will be appreciated.

sounds like your anti-virus has corrupted itself, open whatever
antivirus your using and connect to the internet then click update
virus definitions and try that.
