Error when opening Outlook 2003

When opening Outlook 2003 I get the error
The add-in "C:\progra~1\mcafee.com\vso\vsolplg.dll" could not be installed
or loaded. This program may be resolved by using Detect and Repair on the
Help menu.
The problem is that I have tried using the Detect and Repair function with
no results. I also have never installed any mcafee programs. Any ideas?

While you may not have, the vendor of your PC may have bundled a McAfee
product with the PC. Open Outlook and click Tools>Options>Other>Advanced
Options and look in either COM Add-Ins and Add-in Manager for anything
referencing McAfee. If you find it, delete it. If not, then with Outlook
closed, delete the file %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat
