When opening an Excel file a msg appears, “File is locked.
In order to save changes to the file, can either close the file
before making any changes and then re-open it, use Save As . . .

I click OK and try File/Save As. I then get a msg. “Cannot be assessed.
The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location.
Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding.”
The file is not read-only . I received this file from someone else who
is having the same problem with it. I’ve saved the file to a network
drive and my C:\ drive and get the same error msgs.

When I click Cancel in the above error box, I get msg.
“unable to read file”

When I click Ok to the above error box, I get an instruction
error and have to restart Excel.

[shared] is in the file title. When I click Tools/Share Workbook,
I get error, “file is locked, try command again later”.

Any hopes to fixing this file? Thank you.
