error when down loading microsoft's fix

I have one of those emails stuck in my deleted box. So went to the fix link
download and when I go to run(install) it I get this error.
"Installer encountered an errorx80004002 No such interface supported."
Any suggestions???

Microsoft has offered an update to their installer for some time. Are you
caught
up on such updates? This hotfix may require it to install properly:

Also, you may have to try both the 32-bit version of the hotfix and the
64-bit
version to find the one that fits your version of Vista. The wrong one will
just
refuse to install.
