Error type 1974155 (Device driver?)

SInce purchasing my new computer (with XP Professional
installed)my computer has crashed 14 times (in 45 days).
When tracking the problem, I am shown the error type as
1974155, along with a brief explanation that it is
probably caused by "a device driver". Any ideas (other
than the time consuming safe mode)????

Hello,

Have you checked the Device Manager to see if you have
any conflicting hardware in your computer? Also, check
and see if there are any yellow exclamation marks beside
any piece of hardware.

Yes, I have checked the Device Manager and it does not
show any conflicts. No yellow exclamation marks either.
This is driving me crazu, and I have reported it to
Microsoft 16 times to date. Response.....nada!
