error/shutting down

My computer will shutdown often, with an error message
referring to system32\lsass.exe with error code of
1073741819. I am also hooked up DSL and responds at a
snails pace. I am new Windows XP user...HELP.

Looking at their webpage myself, I think this may be the
source of my avserve.exe problem. The only thing I find
puzzling is that Microsoft's, your and my symptoms don't
match; yet I find connections between all three (lsass
and avserve).
