Error: RPC Process Terminated

I just purchased a PC for my daughter with WIN XP Home
edition on it. When accessing the internet, within 5
minutes of log-on, an error message is received: "RPC
Process Terminated Remote Procedure Call. Must Restart".
At this point, the system automatically reboots. I
beleive I need a patch for XP, however when I get to the
support page to allow MS to determine the updates I need,
the same message appears and the system reboots before the
search is complete. Can someone point me to the required
patch so I can download it from another system and
install?

Sorry for the canned response, but we're seeing more than
a few machines with this problem today -

For a removal tool and a link to a security patch for
Windows XP. You need to remove the worm *and* apply the
patch.
