error reporting for explorer and netscape again and again!

Please cne help merecently upgraded [formatted fresh
install] to windows XP Pro.Running with K6-2 500 256 meg
ram.Nothing special. Using McAfee ver 8.0 and stinger.
Trying to get firewall program because viruses keep
hitting faster than bullets flying in Iraq.
Everytime connect to net even if browser program is not
open keep gettin "Error reporting" to microsoft for
netscape or explorer.I am using communicator 4.8 so kinda
understand that one but explorer is ver 6?
Can anyone help ? Is this too a virus ?

Turn on the built in XP firewall _before_ you go online to do anything.
