Hello,

I'm having a problem in powerpoint 2007 where when I try to play a movie
that I have put on a slide the movie box is black but the sound plays. I've
looked around the discussion forum here and have tried a few things. I
shortened the file name to less characters, updated video driver, tried to
reduce video hardware acceleration, but my driver would not let me adjust the
settings and have updated windows media player. Currently I'm running windows
update, i'm not sure if that will make a difference. After doing all these
things, The video box is still black with sound playing. Some other
information that might be useful is I have Windows Vista and the file is an
AVI file.

Many Thanks, Matt

How short did you make the path? And is the video on your Vista hard drive?

Hi Joe

Have a read of this:
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00155.htm

Within it you will find a link to the free demo of FixLinks which I think
will solve your problem.

PS Sorry if this is a repeat post - my internet connection is playing up.

The path is C://test folder/vmovie. It can't be too much shorter. I think
since it's in the C drive then it is on the Vista Drive.
