error on all usb ports when connecting any type of hub usbhub.sys

hi i receive a BSOD every time i shut down my computer well when there is a
usb hub plugged into a port.. i have tried different ports and different usb
hubs and only find this problem with usbhubs.. i have the latest drivers for
my motherboard.

Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4
Athlon x2 64bit 6000+
2gb OCZ ram

With the Hub installed have you checked the power draw on the chipset
Root Hub and the Bandwidth on the Controller that hosts the Hub?

If the condition exists using different Hubs then the problem must reside
with the motherboard USB.

Are the Hubs High Speed ( USB2 ) or Full Speed (1.1) ?
Also do you have the latest Chipset driver package installed for your MB ?

installed that and still no joy

I can plug in any usb hub by itself and shutdown and get the BSOD. i can plug
in to each port without the hubs connected and get no errors at all... all my
usb hub are powered by the usb port.. exept for 2 which are powered by plug
and they still do the same thing

I'm not at all certain that this will help with your situation, but this
solution has worked for some people with problematic USB devices and could be
worth a try:

Locate the file INFCACHE.1 in C:\Windows\inf

Right click on the INFCACHE.1 file, select Properties >Security > Edit, and give
your account full control.

Delete INFCACHE.1, or rename it to INFCACHE.1.BAK or temporarily move to your
desktop.

REBOOT

If this works, you can delete the INFCACHE.1 file. Windows will not recreate
it.
