Error number: 0x80070424

Can anybody help please i am getting this error message
Error number: 0x80070424 when i try and use windows
update , And i have searched the error number with no
luck , so at the moment i can't update my windows can
anyone help me please ?

Just trying to help, found out what it means, don't really know how to fix it

0x80070424 -2147023836 ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST

Due to a bug in BITS 1.5 OOB setup, after BITS 1.5 install, the BITS service is
deleted, but the 1.5 install returns success code. BITS 1.5 binaries are copied to
the machine, but the service doesn't exist. This can also happen if the BITS service
is explicitly deleted by running the command sc delete bits


View the windows update log:-

Open Internet Explorer and either type or copy and then paste this into the Address
bar:
%windir%\windowsupdate.log



See if there is any other specific error codes, for example:-

The necessary services are disabled or unavailable. Error 0x80246008

This error may occur if one or more of the following services are disabled or
unavailable. Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) Event Log
