Error: Name is already in use either as a service name or
as a service display name

Have been trying to install Belkin Wireless network card
f5D6020 and receive this error message at the end.

Have been working with Belkin folks and they do not
understand what this error message means.

wireless card worked fine on computer before upgfrade to
XP.

Does any one know what this error message means?

Thanks

Look to see if there is a service running for the
wireless card. If you did an upgrade to xp and had the
device installed previously then it is possible that some
remenants of the old registry may be causeing the problem
or a service is already inplace using that name. Right
click my computer and go to management then click on
services and look at all the services that may have
similar name or function.

this is a wild guess but it is where I would start.

Alison, hopefully some1 can help us as i have same problem but reached
it a different way.

i basically uninstalled and reinstalled the software which came with my
belkin adaptor (f5d7050uk)as i thought i was going to change to a
different type.

HOWEVER IT SEEMS UNINSTALL DOES NOT REMOVE ALL SETTINGS CHANGED FROM
THE FIRST INSTALLATION. THERE MUST BE A REGISTRY SETTING WHICH IS
SAVED??!.
WE NEED TO REMOVE/EDIT THIS!!

unfortunately, i dont know which entry it is, thats where i am stuck.
please help anyone??!
i believe this is bad software from belkin.
i also think windows saves past network connection names somewhere..but
where??
if anyone does know or knows how to find it please help

thanks in advance

Jitesh
