error messages

Starting on Friday Nov 2 I am getting an error message when I click on links.
It usually happens from within Windows Live Mail, but has happened from
other links. The message reads "windows cannot find the file, please retype
and try again". Any ideas as to why this is happening?? Vista Home Premium
with IE7 and Maxthon 2.0. Thanks for any help in advance.

Start | Default Programs
Make sure IE has all its defaults.

I checked and it says that IE has all of its defaults. I still have the
problem.
 
I still have the popup error message. And yes IE has all of its defaults.
This is real frustrating.
