Really simple question. I keep getting, every thirty
minutes, a reminder error message - "This page cannot be
displayed", even though I am not trying to access a
particular web page at the time. Even after I reboot, I
get this window, and you cannot click on it to get rid of
it. I have to go to task manager to eliminate it, and
then thirty minutes it is there again. Anyone know how to
get rid of this?

Something on your system is trying to get to a particular page on the
Internet. It's failing either because you aren't connected or the page
has moved. Since you don't give any specifics about your connection or
system, I can't narrow it down any further than that. Do these generic
troubleshooting steps: 1) scan with current antivirus using updated
definitions; 2) remove spyware with tools such as Spybot S&D
(www.security.kolla.de) and/or Ad-aware (www.lavasoftusa.com) - note
that it is a good idea to do virus and spyware scans in Safe Mode; 3)
delete temporary and Temporary Internet Files; 4) stop unnecessary
services/programs from running at startup (see www.blackviper.com for a
listing of services). After making sure the computer is clean - does
the problem persist? If yes, then post back with more details.

Paul,

I too am having the same problem. Somebody in a previous
post said that running SPYBOT (a free download) may be
something to try. I will give it a shot. I'll let you
know if something helps.
