Error messages "There are no files in the folder" and "Server "" Timed Out"

Thanks to Jim Buyens for his reply

I have the site on my laptop (as you describe in step 4), but when I try to open it in FrontPage, no files appear and the message "there are no files in the folder" comes up. On checking the disk based website folder, the files are all there. I have other webs, which open perfectly in FrontPage, it is just this one site that I am having problens with

Any further ideas please
