error message

I was trying to forward some messages to another email account. Apparently, I
tried to send too many. I got the following message: Sorry, that message
exceeds the maximum message length.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 552, Error Number: 0x800CCC6D

So, I selected fewer messages and tried to resend. I got this message: Your
server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this
include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Subject 'old mail 5',

I cannot see any way to clear these tasks so that I can start fresh. Can any
of you folks help me out?

"message length" refers to the size of the message, not the number of
recipients, and is probably coming from the server you are using to send the
message. In other words, it is not a Windows Mail problem and you need to
check the documentation of the service you are using to send mail. You
probably need to reduce the size of the message somehow, or use some other
way to send the file.

I don't know what is causing the "unexpectedly terminated the connection"
error. It might be your anti-virus software. Are you sure that is the entire
error message? Probably not.

Two questions:
1. Did that message include an attachment, and if so, what was its size ?
2. Which antivirus program are you running?

I have the same problem, and keep getting the same message ,except this is
for an incoming mail (Outlook Express.) "Message 3 of 3" won't finish
downloading, and 2 other messages are repeatedly downloaded. This is causing a
blockage in incoming mail. How can I get rid of the problem?(I think I only
have 2mb download speed...)

That typically indicates a 'stuck' email on the server.
Log in via webmail (using your browser), sort the messages there by date,
delete all the older ones you already have downloaded, plus one more.
Try Windows Mail again.

Your problem is totally different. Lizzie's problem is with sending; your
problem is with receiving.

Note that Sid says the program is Outlook Express (right?). The solution to
this problem is probably the same though.
