Error message

Stan

I'm getting the following error message and don't know how
to resolve it.
Would it be helpful to review the error log?
If so, where is this thing?
Please help.

EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.

I think that there's only two people in the world who can decipher this log
file. One is retired from MS and the other lives on a mountain in the
Himalayas.

IIRC, these are named drwatson.log. You could search your harddrive for them
(windows start button|find (or Search). Or just search for *.log and choose the
one with the correct date.

Some things to try before you pack your winter clothes:

Depending on the version of excel, you could find "detect and repair" under the
Help menu.

And sometimes excel's toolbar (*.xlb name and location will vary with versions
of excel and windows) gets corrupt.

close excel
windows start button|find/search for *.xlb

rename them to *.xlbOLD
and try excel again. If it worked ok, then dump those *.xlbOLD files
and recreate your toolbars at your leisure.

If it didn't help, rename them back to *.xlb and see if reinstalling from the
distribution CD helps.
