I'm new to Windows Mail so maybe I don't have something set right. When I
click on a link in an email sometimes, but not always, a message pops up that
says something like: {Windows cannot find http:www.xyz............. (the URL
of the link) ...make sure you typed it correctly...}, then it will open the
link anyway, but the message remains on the screen until I click OK. I guess
this is more of an annoyance than a problem, but I'd appreciate any help you
can give me. Thanks.

What web browser are you using? Internet Explorer is the one that comes
with Vista, and Windows Mail sometimes has some problems linking to some
of the others.

If your favorite web browser is Internet Explorer:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on Internet
Explorer. If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Thank you Gary, but I prefer Firefox. I tried Thunderbird and preferred
Windows Mail. Guess I'll just have to put up with it until all the software
distributors can get along.
