Error Message on WinXP Boot

J

JackOklahoma

I'm getting a "red x" pop-up box with the following error message EVERY time
I start or re-start (bott or re-boot) WinXP SP2.
Error pop-up title bar says: "svchost.exe" - Application Error

The text inside the box reads:

The Instruction at "0x7c918fea" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The
memory could not be "written".

This started out of the blue for no reason. There is no spyware on my
machine according to Avast, Spy-bot, and Defender. Everything seems to be
working fine.
