I logged in and received the following message:
Windows 2000 root> system32\ntoskrnl.exe is missing and I
must reinstall. I can't get to the D drive to install
from the CD. What options do I have?

Greatly appreciated
Jim

You should be alright if you can get to another Win2K
machine with a floppy disk and transfer it that way. It's
only a 1.6MB file.

How is he going to stick a 1.6MB file on a diskette without a DMF or
other formating utility? And once he does that how is he going to stick
the file onto the broken W2K machine that won't start? Just
wondering... I'm sure there is an answer. NTFS DOS I guess.

Sorry, I just assumed people who know enough to find a
newsgroup know enough to have a generic boot disk.

A lot of people who post here have no clue on what is or how to make a
Windows 2000 boot disk. And more than a few would be perplexed trying
to fit a 1.6MB file on a 1.44MB diskette.
