Error message about Virtual Device Driver format??

Installing programs on my W2Kpro. system I got this message:
"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers, VDD,
Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close" to
terminate the application." There are buttons Close Ignore.
Selecting Ignore things appear to work.
What should I do to correct?
What the entry should be?
Any advice?
