error message 550 unkown user name after ~?

I can't publish my website, I keep getting an error message:

550 unkown user name after ~

checked with my provider, everything is fine, I am using an ftp address, all
info is correct, they claim is FrontPage fault! Don't know what I should do.

If anybody can help me, I would really appreciate it.
