Error installing Vista at expand file stage 0x8007001F

I've just tried installing Windows Vista Ultimate but am getting an
error on the 'expand files' stage.

The error says...

"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required
for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error
code 0x8007001F"
From what I can find out this error is because a "A device attached to
the system is not functioning" (http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/
63.html)

I'm not sure how to fix this, can anyone help me?

I've sorted this out myself now. The error only happens when I try to
install vista from a non-boot style install. When I did a bootable
install the error didn't happen.
