#Error in Report (using parameter query)

I am creating a report and want to count the number of
records in the report. The data for the report is coming
from a parameter query. I have tried putting =count(*),
under control source, in a new field but keep getting an
#error message.

Any suggestions?

Did you place the control in the Page Header or Footer? It should be in the
Report Header or Footer.
