error: folder cannot contain items

I am unable to get new messages. The error I get is: Could not fetch new
headers in the inbox for 'user'. This folder cannot contain items. This is
most likely a limitation of your IMAP server. In order to create a folder
that can contain items, do not append your server's hierarchy character to
the name as you create the folder.

Are you using an IMAP account? If so, I'd try deleteing the account and
recreating it.

Thanks for the response! Yes, it is IMAP. And yes, I tried deleting it.
That didn't work.
