Error fixed in upcoming 2007 Microsoft Office System Beta release

I applied patches via auto-update and started getting a MAPI32.DLL error.

Repairing the install didn't fix it (or do anything really, the status bar
never progressed and the repair process just ended).

I tried the renaming trick (renaming the .DLL to .OLD) and that didn't fix
it.

Finally Office diagnostics came up and said I had a conflict between Outlook
2003 and 2007 so I un-installed 2003.

Office 2007 now crashes on startup. When I submit the crash data it
provides a link to this page with info on the problem:

Anything I can do to make Outlook 2007 usable until the next Beta or am I
just screwed?

Have you applied Beta 2 Technical Refresh? B2TR is available at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b07a3387-01cf-4bc3-821a-0bb10e7a59fa. The patch is a free download and does not require a product key.

Note that this is a patch. You must install Beta 2 (which does require a product key) before installing this patch. You will not be able to remove the patch, nor will you be able to install Beta 2 versions of additional Office programs after installing the patch. These issues and others are covered in the notes at http://pschmid.net/blog/2006/09/14/43, which I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you read COMPLETELY before installing B2TR, especially the part about saving all your Ofice 2007 documents.
